I stopped playing Gears of War 2 until a couple of weeks ago. Now, I genuinely can't stop playing. The competitive multiplayer of Gears has never really been my thing, but Horde is just a masterpiece. And we all know how incredible the singleplayer campaign is.
This was definitely my GOTY last year.
The N4G community showcases its PS3 bias once again.
Bravo people, bravo.
I was going to get the PC version, but I'll be getting on the 360 because my PC (laptop) isn't likely to run it. It's annoying - the PC version will be superior to the 360 and PS3 versions - but at least I'll get to play it in some form.
Just so no one disagrees, Bioware has said that the PC is the game's leading platform. Honest!
Anyway, this is looking awesome. Looks like it'll bring some Baldur's Gate nostalgia with it, which can only be a good thing.
The Open Zone is that way. Shoo!
Couldn't agree more mate.
Well, LOTR: Conquest was practically EA/Pandemic stamping on Tolkien's grave - it was awful from both a gameplay and lore perspective.
When will someone do this great work justice?
Riiiiight. 'Cos Gears of War 2 was ugly, wasn't it? /Facepalm
So, err, didn't bother mentioning that it's concept art? Kind of an important detail.
Ah, I'm so excited! Hopefully Dragon Age: Origins keeps me satisfied until then. I can't wait to continue the assault with my Bruce Willis lookalike character. ;)
On a side note, what's the point of this going to the PS3? From a gamer's point of view, it'd be stupid. The story is rather complicated as it is and PS3 gamers are going to be even more confused jumping straight into the sequel without having played the first one.
They should keep Mass Effect exclusive...
I still play FIFA 09, so a new game mode is always welcome. I still can't believe how awesome FIFA 09 turned out to be - this is coming from someone who always favoured the PES series as well.
I want this now.
I also want Bioware's babies.
Well, the N4G will eat this news right up. These comments just show how PS3-biased the N4G community really is.
Graphics aren't anything. When it comes to a game's overall package, the 360 has a much better collection than the PS3 in my opinion.
I can't help but laugh at what is quite clearly a PS3-biased community.
Worst. Comparison. Ever.
Strikepackage is right; there was a lot more than just 'talk' of a console version. Project Offset was initially announced for the 360 and PC, but there was never confirmation of a PS3 version.
However, since Project Offset has been bought by Intel, you can bet that things will change. Basically, I'm pretty sure that it will only be available for the PC.
It's not deserving of a 2.3/10 - not many games are - but it certainly doesn't do the genius of Tolkien's work justice.
Oh my...
It'd be a crime if this game doesn't get released. Some of those moments were incredibly epic, and it looked stunning.
Good review. I've seen this game get 8/10 scores from a couple of reviewers, so there's still hope yet.
My copy should be here tomorrow or the day after. :)
I'm sorry, but that review was awful. The mage does not have a sword, so why does the review state otherwise?
Admittedly, to the average gamer this game is going to seem mediocre. But if you are actually an avid LOTR fan, this game is quite simply unmissable.
Based on the demo alone, I'd give the game at least an 8.
Crysis on consoles? Bah! Now there's a funny thought.
